The new stages are pretty fun. I'd say the difficulty level is not quite as crazy as Maze of Illusion, but it's still pretty tough. I don't think the enemies are nearly as cool looking, though.
The new 4 star ranger is... Bob. And the new 5 star ranger is Lia. I'm really not that jazzed about them. Bob especially. I have never liked using him because of his move speed and considerable melee range. I guess we haven't had a new free health ranger in a while so they had to give us someone. Lia is an upgrade over Alice in every way as a 5 star ranger, so I think she will be a useful addition to the free ranger roster. But I was really hoping for someone more desirable, like Thunder Brown! But oh well, I can dream.

Another change that was made was regarding friend invitation gifts. Good news for those who have ached for KSM this whole time. You can get 1 KSM for issuing 100 invitations. Your invitation count has been reset to 0. We are getting more rubies for the x10 and x30, too. And I really like General Brown as the 4 star gift ranger. He has really well... balanced... utility for a ranger of his cost and quality. All in all, I like the new friend invitation rewards. If someone just starting the game cashed in on this reward program, they'll have no trouble for a good, long time in the early stages. But that's the trend the game has been seeing: overpowering the early areas to give you meaningful rangers for the very difficult later areas.
Towers and Missiles got new cosmetic updates to indicate how well upgraded they are. This will help a lot in PVP when you're trying to determine how you want to go about your enemy's tower. If it's a weenie tower, maybe you can just rush at it and knock it down. The missiles supposedly got a damage buff, but I'm not getting the feeling just from playing that it is very powerful. The new graphic is kind of cool, though. Bundles of missiles!
The changes in Team Battle ranking rewards that LINE tried to implement previously did not make it into this update. Strange, I thought they would :(
The straight wins counter in Team Battle now displays up beyond 99 wins in a row. :)
Hope everyone is enjoying the new area! I know, they're doing so much updating throughout and now 10 hrs after release the whole game is down for stability maintenance again. Hope they sort out the problems so everyone can continuing battling for Sally.

finish the tutorial stage 1 and combining tutorial, then go into the "friends" page, and tap the middle screen.. it will ask u to login line, then authorized the apps.. there we go, u should be able to play ur account...
btw, i guess they changed the percentage damage applies.. im not sure, but i feel like my dumpy is now weaker.. cmiiw
still having trouble logging in. intro animation loads but the update link appears and when you click on update it is redirected to the App Store page and freezes. will deletin the app and installing it again erase my progress? I am already at level 85 and stage 127. strangest thing is I can't even find the app anymore on the AppStore and not even when I click in naver japan that shows all games from them. help!
DeleteThe speed ranger cooldown has increased. My level 60 hip hop takes a lot longer to cool down now, I guess that is why they buffed speed ranger attack. But now I am not sure if I can spam him fast enough for him to be useful without being mastered...

DeleteThey're probably adjusting to account for how fast speed spamming will be with full treasure. Same sort of nonsense they did with Ola Brown's attack speed in the previous treasure release. Some rangers will simply be too fast post treasure so they down ticked it pre-treasure. Which is a pretty crappy move for players who are, ya know, trying to make their way through the area. :P

But it should be "so you wont have to find new dummy accounts to spam invites out" because the part that is reset is who you already sent one to which means you can send them one again as long as they didn't already get the game.

But at least I've got two Elle... so although the gacha chances aren't as good as before (I've got 5 5★ ranger out of 6 two weeks ago. Can you imagine?) It's not disappointing. Good luck for everyone! And I wish I could pass maze of illusion with a level 70 dwight and a level 65 edward as my tank... I can't wait to get R.o.D's treasure... since I can no longer spam my Cherina and that's very frustrating -_- esp in pvp.

Conclusion:

They eventually reply, but sometimes they reply with a canned reply that isn't terribly helpful in my experience. I think if you started as a guest, your data will not be linked to your line account at all. It's probably tied to your device, which is overall not safe. That's my impression, anyway. The line help people should be able to tell you for sure.

DeleteI've also noticed after the update that the battle system has gone a lil bit wonky, I've battled with players that can deploy Edward and Susu at the beginning at the battle.. Correct me if I am wrong, Isn't the cost over 2000 Minerals? I doubt at level 99 Max Minerals you would have such an amount at the start. There are cases where a whole team is deployed at the beginning (Chi Chi, Dwight, Edward, Cherry, DKB) I found this "tweak" ludicrous..

I can corroborate Eco's experience. in Pvp I have encountered this more often than not. Oftentimes a whole team of 5 rangers get deployed. Not in quick succession, but together. This is the comp AI ..... is it not?
DeleteMy friend in Taiwan has similar experience as well. When you see this, put that finger down and freeze them at their tower (if the stage is short) & quickly bulldoze the tower. Otherwise you're looking at a long battle.

DeleteAccording to my personal observation, the cool down for Rider Edward went down from 38 to 31 sec. About 18 percent of cooldown time was reduced with 100% treasure in this area. Hope this help buddy!

Is the Bonus Roulette thing after you clear a stage rigged? I landed directly on Sol quite a few times at this point but it keeps redirecting my result to a random item (two-star or three-star or money).
ReplyDeleteI'm noticing a lot of lower-level players with low-level rangers at the last stage of the new area again--there is no way they could get past the Maze of Illusion with their current teams, and I'm finding it difficult to make it past the middle rounds of the new area even with mastered chichi and KSM. OFFTOPIC: Can anyone tell me if stage 129 requires a certain level to bypass? According to panic the stage is supposedly the easiest but those mushrooms and birds quickly overwhelm my tankers even with max Xan and Masked moon. The map is just too small. I watched the videos and the players can spam the rangers really quickly at just level 1 resources to overwhelm them.
ReplyDeleteMy team for fast win strategy: Rei, Cherina, Opera James, Songster Cony, Socerer Cony. During spamming Rei upgrade mineral production to level 8. Wait until the mineral gauge full, then use hurricane to blow back these mushroom also generate all your splash rangers, freeze enemies right at their tower, call your friend backup or sidekick. Keep generating Rei and Cherina continuously, also when having chance to deploy any available splash ranger. Dont forget to use once more invincibility item right after freezing the enemies.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if the game can distinguish between rubies that are purchased, and those that are obtained for free. My Gatcha results have always been much better when I spend purchased rubies.

DeleteI've been playing since the very beginning, so I've rolled gacha like a bazillion times using free rubies only, almost always 5+1 and always during 2x chance events. And yet, my only premium unfarmable mastered ranger is... The awesome 4* Biker James! Others are not even close but Bernard, lv75 since quite a while ago. Also, I NEVER got ANY limited edition ranger (Olá Brown, Susu, Rider Edward).
I think this is not a good policy, because if in doubt of paying, when one analyzes the results of what you can get with "plain rubies", will be discouraged into paying for the chances of receibing the same old crap in exchange.
But what they really should do is... Come on everybody, one more time... Stop giving us whatever rangers we already have mastered!
IF they allow us to exchange non-farmable 5* to a 10 rubies, that would be great.. or mastered non-farmable 5* to 300/400/500 rubies.. lol
DeleteYes, selling rangers for rubies would be an improvement, but it's even less likely to happen because it would report them less profit. My approach, on the other hand, would give them more, IMHO, because some people like me would start spending money into the game. And it's demonstrated to be the best practice for any long-term business to have many small spenders than just a few people spending like crazy.

Spent 300 rubbies last week on even and got these 5 stars rangers.
Thunder Brown, Lia, ChiChi, Mully, Edward, Xan, DancerKing Boss, Edward, Moon, Ksm, Cony, also four star abdula, ellin, and a few common ones, and of course a few crappy 3 stars.
Its no guarantee. Can check out the dude who made the video on youtube. Well It seemed to increase the chances to score better for me.

Yes, I knew the trick. I did try it three times during the latest 2x chances event and I got crap. Of course it's not guaranteed, it just makes no sense. Anyone with some minimum knowledge of coding should know that such a thing would only be possible if coded intentionally, and that would be too insane, even for him.

DeleteWell more importantly, the numbers and types of monsters aren't alway constant - it's always in relation to what you have done. While I'm not saying there are endless possibilities, what you generally do will generally yield you the same response in terms of AI.
DeleteIt depends on how you go about it. There are two King Kings that you might face, but you can avoid having to deal with the second one if you use your items well - as Dali mentioned.
DeleteI have a strong enough line-up and economy to just take this stage straight up - no items used. The second King King appears when you have damaged the tower about 10% or so. There was one time when I just happened to be fighting the first wave of everything in such a position that my Edwards were already damaging his base, so the second King King came out well before the first one was gone. That fight got interesting quickly.
With mastered Edward, Chichi, and 2-3 of the following: SonCo, Ola, Elle, or Shu, and an economy level of 86 (maybe?), you can auto-farm this stage, although you probably should pay attention at the beginning. Sometimes the AI likes to start things by throwing out five or six LRS'ers without any front-line support (Edward or Chichi). If you see this happening, you'll have to take control and force a Chichi or Edward, then you should be able to hit the auto button again.

I recommend you to try this strategy: all mastered speed lowbies + Xan + 2 Splash Rangers + Full Items + Friend (or sidekick which have Susu or Chichi in his team). Also follow the game rhythm as youtube guide.

Erica: Range like DKB, damage like KSM, very slow movement, slow attack, very expensive. i have her at lvl 37, and she already costs 1000.
DeleteMuay Thai Brown: costs 640 out of the box, but he's a speed ranger, so that cost won't change. I currently have him at 44/80 level (got REALLY lucky with the gacha this time), and he does 146221 (listed) DPS, with 236031 (listed) HP. He attacks fast. I have a feeling that when he levels out, he's going to be more of a balance-type character, or even a decent health character with a serious punch (or knee, as the case may be for him).
Kinmara Cony: 5-star Cobe on PEDs - which is to say, a melee splash ranger. A friend of mine has one of her at 32 lvl. Normal attack speed. Very fast foot speed. 760054 (listed) HP, and 99624 (listed) DPS.
Summer: Attack-type, with range about 8 or 9. For example, is not safe from King King's attacks in stage 132. A different friend of mine has gotten all five Summers. At 37/70, he costs 530, does 101911 DPS, has 288262 HP, moves fast, and attacks normal. I don't particularly see what he brings to the game.
One thing I forgot to mention about KCony: She's expensive. At lvl 32, she already costs 760.

i thought when i mastered susu, i can do better than before in the team battle mode.. then edward coming and take down my entire army easily.. even having mastered susu couldnt help at all.. luckily i didnt load any to master edward.. i believe the new limited ranger can take down mastered edward like nothing.. i will never load rubies anymore, knowing that it will worth nothing in a month.. :)
To all players here, plese reconsider if u want to load rubies with intention to master the limited ranger. it will only worth for a month, then we will see another limited ranger that turn our current limited ranger to ash..

DeleteSpeaking strictly from an economic point of view, the following reasons discourage spending money on LINE Rangers:
Delete1. LINE has the legal right to close the game at any time without any kind of compensation (in other words, despite spending real money, you have no ownership whatsoever of those rubies/rangers - moreover, you can't even play the game on demand because of the feather timer)
2. Rubies and rangers are neither tradeable nor sellable (thus they aren't actual assets, even excluding that you don't own them)
3. Each months, the rangers are obsoleted by new ones (what virtual value they have rapidly depreciates)
4. You have no guarantee of actually securing desirable rangers for the money you spend (gacha is gambling, not purchasing)
5. Rubies are extremely expensive compared to other common forms of entertainment media (I think $30 buys you 12 gacha spins. For the same sum or less, you could buy a AAA video game, many ebooks, three months of Netflix... all of which are guaranteed purchases and may not turn out to be a bunch of Pews and Duncans)
Anyway, I won't stress the point, because we all know these points already. People who love this game and want to invest in it are totally entitled to do so. From a economic point of view, LINE Ranger rubies are a terrible way to invest your dollar, and this is so obviously true that there's not really even a debate to have. But at the same time, it's okay to use money in this way, if that's what you choose to do with it.
So everyone's right, and everyone's wrong, and my free rubies got me all the new rangers bar Erica today, so I'm happy. :)

I have very bad luck and the odds of getting the new rangers are ridiculous (even if they boost up the chances of paid rubies over free ones, which they do for sure). So, as I've said trillions of times now, I, for one, would spend some cash in this game ONLY if they wouldn't give me whatever rangers I already have mastered. But that won't happen because there are still too many players giving them their money despite the nonsense that the current system represents, so they won't have mine, ever.
And all the other points you mentioned are irrefutable. So is the fact that people are free to do with their money whatever they want to do. And it's as respectable as my own choice of spending it in anything else than gacha because all the reasons you've explained so well.
I'm not sure at all about your hypothese about luck differences between Free and Paid rubies. Many Money Spenders got bad luck at Gacha as many non-Spenders got good luck at Gacha. It sucks, it's called randomness.

Strictly speaking from an economic point of view - everything except food, water and shelter discourages spending money.
Debates on value are pointless in this thread - that's why it should just stop. Some people spend their money on nappa leather bags from Versace, others may prefer PVC from Guess or no bag whatsoever. I seem to continually read constant complaints from a certain few avid posters on this blog. Yes, we get it you don't want to pay for rubies. Yes, we get it you want these changes. Instead of continually whingeing on your comments, why don't you just show your dissatisafaction by not playing the game? In essence I just want to say this: we don't need to go to extremes and start comparing LINE Rangers to the basic of food, water and shelter. We can, however, compare it to other FTP games and to micro-transaction entertainment media generally, in which case LINE Rangers gives a fairly poor showing in terms of value for money. (And yes, value is subjective, but I did clearly lay out my reasons for questioning the long-term value of rubies under the present system.) Whether you think this merits observation depends on whether, like me, you carry a perverse desire to butt your head against a wall to the glorification of nobody and nothing.

As for my comment on being satisfied with what you have, this is also something that gripes me in real life. I'm tired of people constantly complaining on whatever topic they're annoyed with. In this situation, if you want to enact change - the best thing to do would be to stop contributing money to LINE Rangers and stop playing in entirety. Vote with your feet (maybe this case your thumbs) and they soon get the point when no one is around. But in the meantime, when they are currently sitting in the top ten in revenue (I think I read that in Panic's other post), realise the fact that they know what they're doing and they're doing it well. Perhaps the company you work for is also a leader in their field and able to achieve similar success through the methods you discussed, and that's fantastic for them. But, it seems like what LINE Rangers is doing is working just fine for them.
And I'm glad you are not coming to discuss on LINE Rangers out of negativity, but when people (perhaps not yourself) are constantly whineing on the game, its hard to interpret it as being positive.
I sort of think it's like two friends going into a shop, and Friend A saying to the other "Oh, I won't buy that. It's too expensive and poor value. But if you want to buy it you can". How does that make Friend B feel? Maybe Friend B had a really bad day at work and their relationship with their spouse isn't as "exciting" as it used to be. All Friend B wanted was to go home, open LINE Rangers and buy a few rubies here and there instead of filling the dark emptiness in their heart with chocolate biscuits and a large double quarter pounder meal from McDonalds with a coke zero. Friend B is a good person, with a big heart. Literally and figuratively.
This is, quite obvioulsy, all hypothetical....
In the end, I'm not really sure what I'm saying here. But I do feel like having a double coated Tim Tam.
I don't work for any company (I'm self-employed), and LINE Rangers makes a gazillion times more than I do. :)
DeleteI think your example shows the different angles we have here. Call me cold, but I don't see how Friend B could reasonably be upset by Friend A's remarks. In my experience, friends who go shopping together often discuss and debate the value of purchases. All Friend A is doing is expressing her opinion to a friend while respecting that they differ in what comforts them. If Friend B takes such offence at Friend A having a dissenting view, maybe they aren't really such great friends. :P

seriously ridiculous imo, every time they release new set of rangers, the old ones are as good as useless/obsolete. Moreover, it's bloody expensive to keep up if you wanna be better. Who still need ksm, all the other old splash rangers when you have the new ones. I think they should also buff the existing rangers whenever new set of imbalanced rangers are released. No more charging $ in this $ sucking game, totally bullshyt.

DeleteSomehow I don't really get the vibe for the new set of rangers... the only... umm 'desirable' (even if it could be called as such since I don't really want it, or maybe I haven't see her stats) one is Erica... is she a splash ranger? Can someone describe her complete stats to me? Anyway this round of gacha is very good since it gave me lots of splash rangers :) that alone makes me happy since I don't really want a new ranger... well, I hope they're making a new edward ranger next month, it'll get me all crazy about getting one, since I'm a big fan of Edward (and Sally), lol :p

Well I've done some research on the pvp leader board and the mastered stats of these new rangers, and I'd say that you're right, MT Brown is a great murdering wall! Very desirable ranger indeed, and also... about Erica... I know right? Throwing babies from such distance should really be illegal! Lol :p anyway one of my friends got her and I'd say that she's just a tad too slow for my taste... despite her dps and hp. Seriously though, maybe she works in the child care to kidnap children and take those poor kids to the battle arena as her weapon?

Erica - Currently the most powerful far range splash ranger in the game. Down side is that she has a long cooldown and cost. Extremely useful for end game (and probably future content).
DeleteMuay Thai Brown - Most powerful speed ranger in the game. The DPS and HP of this cute but monstrously strong ranger is way off the board. You don't need any tanker/balance ranger have you once you get him.
Kinnara Cony - High HP, monster DPS splash ranger, attacks fast but requires high cost, cooldown and is considered melee. Very useful if you pair her with Muay Thai.
Summer - Insane DPS for a 4Star attack type ranger, far range (similar to Shu) makes this viable end game. Only issue is high cost but still very powerful.
This is by far the best new rangers ever introduced, I would recommend to get Erica and Muay Thai as they are both monsters.
Actually I was thinking of getting Muay Thai and Kinnara, they're both the strongest Cony & Brown series to date. And I just love how fierce Cony look in that Kinnara outfit. And Brown! Cute, as always! ;)
DeleteI kinda think that Erica and Edward are an exact opposite, Edward is a melee ranger with insanely long splash range, he's able to hit faaaaaarrrrrrrrr beyond the enemy first liners. While Erica is a long distance ranger, putting herself in the very back of the line, but, from what I've seen Edward can still trampled Erica with his insanely long ranged melee-splash and so does Erica, she can hit Edward really hard despite her placement. My explanation is kind of jumbled but... you get the point, yep? Having to face an Edward owner when you have Erica at your disposal and vice versa is a win-win (or lose-lose, whatever, lol) situation... but... yeah, Muay Thai and Kinnara ftw! ;)
people who get mad with the new rangers should:

DeleteJust dump 200 bucks and got everything max except for Muay Thai (sigh). This is my first time putting money to the game and I did it because:

2) Erica is a far range splash ranger with really beastly DPS. Compared to the previous who are all close range, she is definitely the most useful. And I love her look!
3) I love the look/style of the new rangers (im not thai though) and the fact that both BROWN and CONY are finally featured as 5stars and not some lousy 3/4stars.
For those who really like the game and have some excess cash to spare, I think these rangers are really worth it as compared to the previous events.
these are the reason why i throw my money 2 months ago.. next month u will realize that it was a bad decision.. especially reason number 2.. she will be very useful just until the end of the month.. best is end of next month..

Although I am still paying for rubies during the current event, I must say that I totally agree with you. The game becomes unbalanced each month. The new rangers can easily beat the old one and being easily beaten by the newer next month. I tried not to purchase the rubies this time but the brown and cony are to lovely to let go ( especially the costume of the new rangers is Thai-based which is where I am from ). Above all, I agree with your logical on the new ranger released each month and hope that they will tweak the stats of old rangers to make them more competitive to the new one.

let me share a bit of my experience.. i load rubies and managed to mastered susu the limited rangers approx 2 months ago.. with a little bit free rubies last month, i managed to master cherina and ksm so far.. i have several old premium rangers at lvl 65 - 75.. having all these, i thought i can do pretty good in the team battle.. but then edward came, and everytime i met edward, i barely win the battle.. And everytime i see edward together with mully and chichi, i dont even try to fight.. bcause i had 10 out of 10 battle lost facing 3 these together..
thats how ridiculous the new rangers are.. lol

DeleteI never purchased any of my rangers but last month when Edward came I just went crazy about it, and I'm lucky enough to be able to have a level 65 Edward for free :) well he's always been my favorite out of any other Line characters, so...........
Anyway I like Muay Thai Brown and Kinnara Cony, those costumes are super cool! It doesn't make me go crazy the way Edward did to me last month but, they have their own appeal I suppose :D
I don't find edward cute at all (worm gross!) and susu looks ugly. Erica is definitely better looking haha! This round of new rangers is definitely more worth it than the previous because the 5 stars are all tankers and attackers! Also no useless 3/4 stars like the previous events.

DeleteIt's honestly frustrating to play this game :( I've never gotten any of the new rangers ever since Susu came out. I've always said that I could probably play some more, but never getting any of the new rangers with the in-game free rubies is just frustrating.

DeleteIt says make a mastered ranger. I'm hoping you feed the beans to a ranger you already have and it becomes mastered. I managed to get one rider edward, I'm hoping this will let me upgrade him.
ReplyDeleteMy theory on the beans is that each bean will increase a ranger's level cap by 5 (i.e a great success combo). They're giving out four beans at the end of the week, so you could potentially master one ranger with them, or master multiple rangers if you had them close. If my intuition is right, I think that's fantastic.
DeleteIt also poses the fun question of which ranger you'd master, given the chance. People with limited rangers will probably pick those, but in my case, I'd be torn between Muay Thai Brown and Kinmara Cony - probably Brown has more utility, but Kinmara would benefit more from the reduction in recharge...
Also, more patient people than me might hoard the beans to use on later, even more powerful rangers. ;)
