Update: Newcomer Brown is a railroad theme ranger. He's only 3 star and he's a giveaway for all players who have reached player level 7. He's also available for bonus roll after specified boss stage clears. Norurun, a 4-star speed ranger, is available for bonus roll after specified boss stage clears, also for a limited time. I guess Norurun is not a water tank. He's supposed to be... a train car/carriage or a propane gas tank...or something...
I am very happy that Railroad Brown is available for everyone to get! He's a pretty decent Balance ranger for 3-stars, and excellent for new players just starting out in the very early stages, certainly. Both Railroad Brown and Norurun are available after clearing the end-stage boss stage of each area -- But only specific lower stages have the new Brown, so check the notice carefully to see which you need to grind.

Also very cool of them to bring back: Driver Brown! He's absolutely an unmissable health ranger to have at the current stages of the game. He's very useful as a free event ranger. If you didn't get a chance to grab 5 of Driver Brown before, you definitely need to get this done now.

Original Post: Could it be another new Brown is coming? This one looks like some kind of an officer who rides a whistle. He's really cute! Brown has the best outfits. He's probably being released together with the little guy below who looks like some kind of a water tank. The water tank's name is Norurun. There are only 2 in this set of new characters, so maybe it is some kind of promotional event. Or worse, maybe just some limited regional event :(
I hope it is a "free" event ranger giveaway. This Brown is pretty adorable. Based on looks alone, I kind of want to have him. Today, we also got some new stage production files so maybe new single player stages are coming as well. Time will tell.
P.S. Reader Dali is right from his previous comment. Stage 144 was significantly nerfed down today. Enemy attack damage and health points have been reduced. 144 is much easier to deal with, especially with event rangers Driver Brown and Songster Cony/Shu. Very, very doable now. If you've been stuck here, try it again today. You'll make it through just in time for the new area.
Would be nice if they were stage clear rangers for the new stages. But yeah I know, won't happen.

3★ Edward, I sure love the idea of another unique splashey Edward ranger. The guy is too cute. He and Sally is the cutest line characters so far... well, plus Brown. I hope that there will be another Edward, I never got the "monthly exclusive" ranger other than him last August. Seems like whenever he's around I got this certain luck on getting him :p with free rubies.

Railroad Brown at mastered level has 113,466 DPS; 1,260,864 HP and costs 320 minerals. And they changed his atk range (closer) right after new releasing an hour.

ReplyDeleteThese new free rangers are quite nice. Norurun's stats when mastered has att: 95,913 hp: 1,291,334 mineral: 330; he/she's like a thunder brown w/ higher att. And railroad brown would be the strongest 3*, when mastered he has att: 113,463 hp: 1,260,864 mineral: 320. Happy hunting guys, got my 1st norurun on my 1st feather, hope my luck continues. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with the people saying that the drop rates are really low, Im farming stage 120 right now because I want to reach the next level so I cant talk about the drop rates of Railroad Brown, so about Norurun its funny how its easier to get the 5 star ranger (Masked Moon) than Norurun in that stage, in my first 30 feathers, 3 Masked Moon, 9 Opera James, 8 Jason, 6 Coins, 3 items and 1 Norurun.

About Driver Brown, I dont like the idea of Line rangers doing that kind of thing (reviving limited time rangers) a Limited Time Event is that a Limited Time, so if someone didnt get the enough rangers to master it is their own fault, they gave enough time to get Driver Brown, I "worked" hard to make my Driver Brown a master ranger so why is this second chance?? if they will do that bring back Red Brown and Shu because I didnt get any of those ranger (those events was before I started playing LR) and I want my Thunder Brown as a reward too =P

Maybe others worked hard but only got 4 driver Brown's. Maybe others don't have access to plenty of feathers. I worked very hard to get my 5 browns as well, but I'm happy others not so lucky get a second chance.

About the revival of limited edition rangers, well, I don't dislike it, but it should be extended to 5* as well, because new players, or even veterans with bad luck as myself, won't have the chance of getting Olá Brown, Susu, Erica or Edward, which are the best splashers in the game. In fact, Edward's characteristics are too unique in this game and anyone who doesn't have it is in serious disadvantage when battling those who do in PVP

Hey guys the drop rate of Norurun is much better at Stage 48, I got 4 of them after 70 times farming but Railroad Brown just one.

about 120 feathers on stage 36, 78, 80 and i got 4 railway brown, 1 norurun, 1 driver brown and lots of styne, mummy, warjess, mike.. after mastering railway brown, somehow i still like norurun & driver brown more. norurun cooldown is fast enough, about 2s, so i start my game with noruruns & driver brown to keep the opponent on their tower.

Spent around 200 feathers and mastered both of them. Got an extra Norurun as well. For me the drop rate was better than driver brown.

And friend sort by name and/or level, and friend home available from friend help selection screen, and customizable friend home to select the rangers you want to set up to help others. Yeah, you are really in bad luck. I always do like this: after the roulette rolling I count from 1 to 4 then press the stop button.

Been playing 120 since it's double coin and I can't stand to see more Stynes, but still 0 Norurun from level 120 (still only have the two from 36). Maybe it's payback from my luck at gacha (mastered MT, Kinnara, Driver Cony, Mully, KSM, Maestro etc with "only" 150 (i think, maybe 200) dollars ever spent on rubies.
DeleteI'm of the school of thought that says the roulette is predetermined and you can do nothing to affect the outcome. Naturally, I could be wrong (I do have a real university degree in statistics though... true, actually!)
@Anonymous, thanks for the tip, but I can say that it won't affect the result, sure thing. The server knows what it will give you BEFORE you press the stop button. If you don't believe me, do the same experiment that I did, which consists of a few of very simple steps:
DeleteCount your items and coins and see what are your latest rangers by sorting them. Clear a stage. For instance, 120. When the roulette starts spinning (or maybe before that, when it says "stage clear", but I haven't tested it in that way), force exit the app without pressing the stop button.
Start Line Rangers again and compare your stock with what you had previously, adding the coin reward to your previous cash. In my case, I found out that I had a brand new Jason, despite not having seen the result of the roulette spin because, theoretically, there wasn't anything to be seen. Question of magic?
I know that this kind of superstition may work for someone for a matter of plain and simple luck and then spread to other players, but believe me, counting up to whatever won't change your odds.
Should the instants of the start and stop of the spin matter in any way, we humans wouldn't be able to control them. Of course, I, as a coder myself, know that a random number isn't really random, but you can't be accurate up to fractions of a microsecond, so what difference would it make even if the moment of the stop was of any importance or the random seed was always the same, which they're not?
I also did a statistical analysis (yes, really) which proved that it is much more likely to end up next to a wanted item (in this case the 2 new rangers) compared to actually getting it. The chances of ending up next to one are very great, but as we all know, actually ending up upon it... well...
DeleteIf it was anything like a regular roulette you would end up next to an item twice as often as on the actual item. In this case its more than 10 times likelier, at least.
So the image of the spinning roulette is nothing more than just that, an image. You cannot affect the outcome, and the chances for the different outcomes are not represented of the looks on the wheel.
I did this with a sample of over 100 spins, and it's enough to convince me with 99.5% probability of.. what Dali said above :)
I would also bet good money that somewhere there's a website from Taiwan with a much more detailed study than mine, with approximately the same findings. But I can't read Chinese :)

DeleteI was grinding mostly 120 but then I started jumping between 60, 72, 84, 96, 108, 120 and 132, with identical results: I'm flooded of 4* and 5* rangers. I know, soon the 2x combine day is starting, but I don't need any combinations of rangers since I have all maxed already. They grew up naturally to their current maximum only because of this hardcore grinding! Same with my level, I'm almost 25% into lv99 now, despite of not having used any XP booster because what I want from my friend points is feathers to get this ranger.
Very good point of yours, that one of the chances being the same for the middle ranger as the side ones in the roulette. I'm getting norurun at the sides very often, around half of the times, or maybe even more, but never in the middle (three times out of almost 500). That would go against any statistical model if it was for real.
Ive been lucky getting 5 Nonurun and 4 Railroad Brown from various levels (mostly 48 & some very low levels) but I cant find any Driver.

Norurun has about half the cost of muay thai brown and are both speed rangers. A mastered norurun also has half the health of a level 60 muay thai brown. So Is it safe to say that a mastered norurun is a poor man's muay thai brown?

J Yang I did what you say, I combined Beans with another ranger too see if something special happens (like raise the max limit of the ranger you combined with) and booooom, nothing happened, is like combining 1 ranger with another X ranger, so Beans is nothing special, you can compare Beans with Masked Moon, almost the same stats, Beans has slightly more attack damage and slightly more health but Beans move speed is very slow.

Mastered Beans is utterly useless, but... isn't also this whole game, this whole life... he's funny, so I liked using him while leveling him up (no food ever went into my Beans!) Now he is back in the box again never to be played with along with poor master KSM... they just don't cut it any more. It's a cruel world.

Dunno why but RailBrown and Norurun actually got me excited to play LR again. Maybe because they're both cute... maybe because I can get them for free... well with A LOT of hardwork but still... free. And also... their stats. Somehow the two manage to be a veeeeery decent rangers without being too OP. Well... I hope the development team doesn't mess anything up after this.
ReplyDeleteGreat day for me today. In the morning after grinding 20 times at Stage 48, I collected the last Railroad Brown and Norurun to reach master level, I sacrificed mastered Jason and Macho Moon to mastering all of them.

I'm at a slighly lower level than you, and I struggle to win (only using free feathers) sometimes. My team is mastered MT, Kinnara, Junior, Mully, and then I change around with lvl 70 Dumpy, master Maestro or master Driver Cony. (Yes I paid and got lucky in gacha; my point is not to brag, but that most in the top 10.000 have these kind of teams)
I'd say I loose about one in fifty on average. (Have a 140 something winning streak since last week now though ;)
Once you get into the top 10.000 during the week it starts getting hard and if you mess up ever so little with the items you lose. Or well, I do. I absolutely do not claim to be an expert.
With Rangers not mastered the cooldown is too much. I don't even use my lvl 75 Erica in PvP...
In your case I would change chi chi for some mastered speedranger even, if you have any. As for level 65 rangers in PvP... I personally would only even consider MT and Kinnara.

ReplyDeleteIf you are at a low level and struggle with endless mode, there's a way to truly make it endless. Just spam a decent level Driver Brown at wave 1. They will never be killed, and wave 2 will never start. Don't use any other ranger nor the missile.
It will take forever but you will reach 1 mil after, I don't know, a long time. Also they make a nice buffer if you eventually want to start attacking. They will of course all be mowed down by splashers at wave 4-5 somewhere no matter how nany you stack up.
Just thought I'd share my findings :)

If you still have many feathers and don't bother in leveling up or coin rewards but just getting those two, I'd suggest burning them on the fastest stages, like 36. I got three noruruns at 120, but after hundreds of feathers and it takes so long.

(I'm at player level 87 now so long way to go, and my level is the thing that makes me struggle somewhat in the top 10k in PvP, not the missing master Railroad :)

ReplyDeleteFreaky thing, I still needed 1 Norurun (and 4 Browns...) played 2 new feathers on 48, got Norurun & Brown! I can't help thinking maybe they changed the odds. But it was more likely a very welcomed fluke :)
So now that I can master Norurun I think I'll live without mastered Brown. I can't see anywhere I'd ever use him, so level 45 or 60 is kinda all the same. I soooo hate Ballerina James & Styne by now :p
But real happy w Norurun. Now see when I get 10 more of him from 120, just like I had about 20 Driver Brown days after "finally" mastering him (it was a looot easier of course, as we all know...)
Do you all keep spare rare rangers "just in case" they open for the possibility of some kinda ranger exchange in the future? I would so like to have a folder of sorts to put all spare rangers in; they clutter up the ones I use or work on ATM...
Changing the subject, did someone knows why when I use some friends help the AI always drop only 3 of the 5 rangers my friends has??, Its fu**ing stupid that it always drops only 3 rangers and most of the time are useless rangers (the ones who doesnt are splash type) and because of that Im loosing a lot of points, I always check my friends team before and after and the 5 good rangers are set up in their team so why I only get 3 rangers when I call for help?
ReplyDeleteIt is a bug or Line Rangers fu**ed up the friends help???, did someone noticed this yet? Im not really sure but I think that the enemy players it also gets only 3 rangers from the friend help, this "bug" is only in the Team Battle, I dont know if it happens in the stages too.

its always been just 3, randomly selected from the ones your friend has on active duty so to speak (unless he has only 3, only then can you know which ones you receive)

DeleteSo changing the subject again, Line Rangers is given away a lot of rewards, starting from the reset in the invite rewards that it would mean more rubies, another 4star ranger + the most overpowered ranger Chichi and it doesnt ends here, they will give away the mach Brown to anyone who cleares the stage 70 and the new daily rewards consisting in 5 daily rubies for 6 days and in the last day a Mach moon, hurray.
I feel i must disagree on chi chi. I have her mastered and she doesn't even make my team. Not OP at all (not saying it's not a great ranger and many use her, but compared to MT, Kinnara or even Erica & Edward, it's not OP)
DeleteAnd since she's so very expensive I think new players who are the ones that this invite thing is for mostly would be better served by Dumpy for example. You can hardly make use of Chi Chi until a pretty high player level.

3 star Edward I will give you the reason if you can tell me 1 ranger who can beat Chichi 1 vs 1... yes of course you cant because no ranger can beat Chichi, Im not talking about the best ranger or the most efficient ranger, or the best ranger for PvP, Im taling about of RAW stats, Chichi its almost the ranger with more life (only beated by the ugly Somchai for a few hundreds but he lacks damage and his mineral cost is way more) and is almost the ranger with the higher damage (I dont remember if Dumpy has more damage or Chichi wins dont know, but dumpy doesnt stand a second but Chichi with 5M of HP cant stand almost anything.

Usually when talking about OP the mineralcost and cooldown pkays a huge part. That's why Chi Chi usually isn't considered even close to MT or Kinnara. But of course I agree it's the strongest ranger. It's just that I don't find her practical, especially in PvP unless backed up by other rangers.

You must calculate dpm and hpm (damage and health per mineral cost) for each ranger, and then consider the cooldown too.

why does almost every comment section turns into a whiner corner? Sheesh if you think the game is unfair and giving you so much unhappiness then don't play it! On a lighter note, they are changing the 100 friends invite prize to a chichi, very happy because my chichi is 75 and needs one more to be mastered! can finally add her to my team and enjoy owning newbs in PvP wit my mastered MT haha!

DeleteAlso the rangers' mastering system is really damn thing, u need at least five of the same soldier to reach max lv, but the rolling results is random. 100 or 200 bucks is enough? You love something you want to play it to have it, ready to pay for it but u could not get it? U quit when u like it don't u?

ReplyDeleteJust looked at it. I love an rpg but I prefer to be immerse myself into a universe with some story and strong ties to some central characters. The straight up collection of things and grinding up levels isn't nearly as attractive to me. Either I spend hundreds of hours on a game or I spend like 3 hours on it. I tend to obsessively play or don't play at all. :X

This one is particularly annoying because it's external to the game, as it's a time manipulation on the phone most likely. Not really running rampant yet, but surely will soon be exploited by people who can't otherwise compete at the level of play required. It IS sad and disheartening. Wish people would just play or concede to defeat rather than ruin the game for those who do want to play the game as intended.

If you check out the top 100 rank, sometimes you may encounter a couple (around 3-4 i think) of players whose rangers are 3*-4*, not mastered, and their levels are merely 40-50. It is my understanding that you can't enter top 100 without some of the most powerful mastered rangers.

Nope, not the same at all. This one is new and really updated, and it includes really useful values like damage and health per mineral cost, and a good estimation of damage per hit.

ReplyDeleteDali (and anyone else who has a suggestion), what do you do with spare "rare" Rangers? I have a lot of Norurun, as well as spare MT, and other great premium 5*. If I sell them or use as food they're no better than Masked Moon or whatever you can get a ton of for free.
ReplyDeleteI currently save a lot of them if LR in the future creates some kinda exchange, but that doesn't seem likely and since you can't organize the Rangers, it really clutters up.
I didn't have this problem until I spent a few hundred during a double chance even last month... but surely I'm not alone with this "problem?

3 star Edward, If you want cash level them up to around level 25-30 it doesn't take long on double experience day with experience item. You get good cash that way. The other option is to gobble(combine) them up on Friday. Otherwise you can stare at them until the end of time.. Because Line will NEVER allow an exchange system. They are stupid, but not that stupid. And..... Even if they did allow an exchange system. Norurun will be absolutely worthless by then, that nobody would want to exchange him with u anyway.

ReplyDeleteI usually grind at 120, all it takes is master Kinnara, the other spots are for leveling up. I do level up to around lvl 20-30 before selling, its just... it feels so wrong to sell MT for 20k or Norurun for 4k... I remember how much it took to get them mastered and now to sell the spare ones... I kinda know you are right Tim, it's just.. what IF they implement an exchange? But now everyone has Norurun so you are right he would not be worth much. MT would though... maybe I'll just save the really valuable ones.. ^^;

I actually try to master the spare rare Rangers. For example I have 2 mastered norurun, 2 mastered chichi and other hard to get Rangers. I don't need the money now and if I do I always sell Rangers that are attainable from the stages. (Not special event staged)
ReplyDeleteI considered doing that (1 extra master Norurun takes less space than 5 etc) but you get significantly less money this way if you eventually do sell them. I usually try to master one of each rare/premium 3-5* (especially the Browns & Conys) even if I don't use them, don't know why really... I just like having them I guess :)

decrease mineral cost of rangers would be nice, decrease in mineral cost of upgrading mineral would be another option, increased damage by items or increase in gold/xp earned after each game
