Nevertheless, I persisted along with many, many other players to try to get a head start on the global ranking. Many of my questions were answered!
The Versus Modes
Ranking:Everybody wins |
- All players who participate in the ranked Team Battle mode will receive a ranking. Your points/score determines your global ranking. [Note: battling your friends will not help you in the global ladder.]
- Players begin at a score of 1000.
- If you win the battle, you will gain points and your rank will rise.
- If you lose the battle, you will lose points and your rank will fall.
- The amount you gain/lose depends on the ranking of the opponent you battle (pretty sure), and in small part your winning streak.
- The global ranks are reset on a weekly basis (on Monday 6am JST)
- The rewards are really worth it to play this battle mode. Top ranked first place, second place and third place receive a whopping 1000 rubies as a prize. Lower rankings aren't bad either.
- You will also gain experience (for your rangers, not for the player) and coins when you win battles.
- Note that battles against friends on your friend list will not affect your score and therefore has no impact on your global ranking.
- The bottom of the Team Battle screen will tell you how long until the global ranking will be reset and winners will be determined.
Team Battle Mode
- Your "real player" opponent's rangers appear to be AI (artificial intelligence) controlled. There is NOT an actual person playing and controlling the opponent deployments in real time at all. (Boo...)
- Team Battle requires "Special Feathers" which are the rainbow colored feathers. You regenerate 1 special feather every 30 minutes. You can purchase additional feathers with rubies. As with the regular feathers, you also get a new set of 5 each time you gain a player level.
- Somewhat fortunately or unfortunately depending on which point of view you take, you are free to take whichever rangers you please into combat. I'm pretty sure that your opponent's team is based on who that player has chosen in their team at that moment in time, too.
- The length of the battle path is determined at random.
- Pretty sure that whatever treasure your opponent possesses will be applied to their rangers in battle.
- Whatever upgrades (mineral, max limit, tower health and missile strength) you have will apply in battle mode.
- You may use items and friends/sidekicks in battle mode.
- It is possible to hit Hurry Up mode which will just cause the lightning bolts to happen. I believe it also causes all units to become half health to speed up the fight. I don't think it makes the opponent deploy like crazy the way single player mode does, though.
- So far, I don't believe you can trigger Thomas in this mode. I also don't think you can trigger Gold Brown.
- There is no clear bonus roll when you win a team battle.
- When you win more than once in a row, the game will tell you what your winning streak is. A low streak gives you no bonus points, a high streak (10 or more) gives you a 2 point bonus. But most of the points depend on whether you were matched against a player who was close to your rank.
- You may only battle each Friend once per day. But you can farm up as many Friendship Points as you have Friends.
Battle with Friends Mode
- You can access Battle with Friends mode by clicking on Friends in the main screen, then click on the Friend's picture, then click on the Battle with Friend button.
- Your Friend also appears to be controlled by AI, so it's not your friend actually playing on the other end (Boo.)
- The length of the battle path is determined at random.
- Whatever upgrades (mineral, max limit, tower health and missile strength) you have will apply in battle mode.
- You may use items and friends/sidekicks in battle mode.
- You win 50 Friendship Points and personal bragging rights when you defeat a Friend in this battle mode.
- There is no clear bonus roll when you win a team battle. Battle with Friends is considered a practice for Team Battle.
- You don't need any feathers to battle your friends.
- If your friends choose to battle you and fail to be victorious, congratulations! You will receive 50 friendship points in the mail for doing nothing other than being absolutely boss mode. Too bad it doesn't tell you in the mail whose pride you hurt today :)
My Current Impressions
First of all, from the ranking rewards, it would appear that everyone will get 20 rubies for the weekly global ranking system so it would be worth it to buy some rubies because you'll get 20 at the end of the week anyway. It doesn't hurt to participate! You mostly battle people close to your rank score, so you won't immediately be pitted against people who have insanely good rangers; but that said, ranking is no indication of how good that person is because "they" are not playing live on the other end, it's still AI.
It would appear that in these new battle modes, long range units are incredibly powerful (Ola Brown, Dancer King Boss in particular). Once you get some meaty rangers to tank your front line, you need some nice long range units to stand at a distance and bomb away at the enemy. The opponent AI may decide to use items on you, so you should be prepared to respond. The one that is particularly dangerous in my opinion is enemy Ice Shot. Pretty much if they use Ice Shot, I respond with Invincibility almost immediately so that it negates whatever damage they will try to do while my units are doing nothing. You can deploy while frozen but your units will just sit at the foot of your tower until the Ice Shot wears out.
Additionally, I would strongly suggest you go ahead and start upgrading your tower health if you have previously been neglecting this upgrade category. Since they took away Tower Repair, your tower is as healthy as it will ever be and there are no take-backs once you enter combat.
While it's kind of disappointing that it's all AI controlled opponents, it's still kind of addictive because of what's at stake (glory, ranking & rubies). Mostly the fun of these battle modes is in checking out what you can do to respond to various team compositions and enemy formations. I haven't gotten bored with it yet. Try it out! It's pretty fun (when the server behaves).
Endless Mode
- To get to Endless Mode, you hit the Start button the way you usually do on the main screen. Then instead of selecting a stage, click on the swirly portal on the map where it says "COMING SOON".
- To play an Endless Mode stage, you must spend a "Special Feather" which is the new rainbow colored feather. It regenerates once every 30 minutes. You can also buy feathers with rubies. As with the regular feathers, you also get a new set of 5 each time you gain a player level.
- In Endless Mode only, it appears that non-speed type rangers incur a 50% longer cooldown "tax". Dancer King Boss who is normally (unmastered) on a 7-second cooldown is now just over 10 seconds in Endless. Ola Brown who is normally (unmastered) on a 8-second cooldown is on a 12 second cooldown in Endless. My Lia is mastered, and her mastered cooldown is 2 seconds, but in Endless Mode her cooldown is 3 seconds. My mastered Xan's cooldown is 4 seconds but in Endless Mode his cooldown is 6 seconds. I believe that the cooldown of speed rangers remains untaxed, but it's pretty hard to tell since the CD is so low for speed rangers anyway. It's noticeably longer for the others. In my recordings, my mastered Hip-Hop Brown is roughly on a 1-2 second cooldown which seems normal for master level. This is a very important consideration for Endless Mode team selection.
- Unfortunately, I haven't played much yet. It has a similar ranking system, though not a global ladder, with rewards like experience and coins, based on how long you last in battle. It's not a bad way to level your rangers if you have no interest in using special feathers for Team Battle.
New Stuff
The update gave us a lot of nice enhancements that we've been asking for as well as other shiny new things. They've greatly improved on some "quality of life" type of features.
- When you log in every day consecutively, you will stack up and gain rewards for your good attendance. This is a weekly event and replaces our old "daily login bonus." You will be rewarded once you get your "clear" stamp for that day.
- Experience Booster item will grant you 50% more experience for some time duration (3 hours or all day, d pending on which you buy.) I expect most people will be using 500 Friendship Points to buy the 3 hour one. I don't know yet whether it stacks with Double Experience Day, but I would expect so. Once you buy it, you'll see the timer ticking away in the main screen.
- Player max level has increased to 99 from 80.
- Little banners now tell you when something "new" has been added to your game or if there's an event happening to make sure you don't miss anything.
- The Friend home screen is accessed by hitting the Friends button on the main screen, then clicking on your Friend's picture. It'll show you what rangers they have and what level they are as well as their Collection progress and Treasure progress.
- If you click on your Friend's portrait in the stage selection map, you can access a list of your friends currently stuck on that stage, send them help and click to go to their friend home page.
- They finally fixed the display of tower health to be the actual tower health rather than maximum of 999999. Unfortunately, they have also taken away the indication of exact health on the enemy tower (likely because we were exploiting it to find out info they didn't want us to know... lol. Boo).
- When your ranger has reached its absolute max level, it'll say that the ranger is "Master". It's not just a vanity title: Master rangers' cooldown is half of an unmastered ranger. This is a newly added bonus of reaching max level, and naturally more incentive for players to want to play more Gacha.
- Friendship Point capacity has been raised from 990 max to 2000 max.
- Ranger storage capacity has been increased from 100 rangers to 150 rangers.
- The new "Invincibility Item" gives your tower and all of your rangers temporary invincibility (approximately 8 seconds by my count).
- Auto Mode should make your life a lot easier grinding levels. Once you enter battle in a stage, you can hit the Auto button (located under the Pause button) and the AI will take over your deployment. You can still take over if you wish, or turn off Auto if you want to play yourself again. You must switch Auto mode on for every stage you enter, though. I'm not sure what the AI does to determine which ranger to deploy, but I guess it'll take some time to try and figure that part out.
- Under Settings, there's a new "Coupon" button but not sure what it is for yet. Maybe some localized promotional things will be placed here in the future.
- When you click on a team member on the main screen you'll be presented with its profile and the option to go to the level up screen.
- There's a Skip button on the Gacha now. Yes, my prayers have been answered! Now we don't have to waste so much time spinning that dumb ball!
- We no longer get 10 friendship points if someone selects you as a friend so people with symbols prefixing their names can more or less drop that style. The mailbox now allows you to kindly reciprocate sending "help" troops to up to 50 people.
Anyway that's it for now, I'm going back to furiously try to climb the global ladder. Competition is fierce so far. Leave some comments if you have something cool/neat/interesting to add. I'm going to say this right now because I know some of you out there are burning up about it: If you are commenting only to complain about how unfair the Team Battle mode is without any sort of constructive criticism, I will delete it.
That said, I do hope that the new updates to the game has offered everyone something to do while we wait for more new areas.
Auto mode: This function is fantastic. I can grind away at work without anyone noticing!
ReplyDeleteVersus mode: Seeing two armies locked in the middle of the screen at a stalemate is exhilarating haha. It is then nailbiting to see who can amass the larger total damage output to swing the match around. I always send Dumpy first off in hoping the 'opponent' is slow off the blocks, and allows me to destroy the tower in one or two hits :p
For the battle team mode, i scored about 1100 points now but i dont get any ruby. My rank is 1300 i think. Where is my ruby? :(
ReplyDeleteFinal prizes are handed out once the weekly global ladder ranks have ended. See the timer at the bottom of the screen?
DeleteYeah first of all nobody should complain because team battle mode guarantees you 20 free rubies.
ReplyDeleteNo idea what the endless mode reward is and I only see friend ranking right now.
Another new feature is the consecutive login reward. More free rubies. Yay!
Yeah I think the 20 rubies is kinda of a nice gimme from the game.
DeleteEndless mode is accessed by clicking on the swirl in the stage selection map (near stage 120 button).
And yeah! Consecutive login reward IS good :D

Deletemy mastered red brown suddenly have a lower cooldown... does it affect all mastered rangers? or is it just an unnoticed buff?
ReplyDeleteAll mastered rangers' cooldown period speeds up by 50% :D
DeleteConfirmed. I tried it myself. I used a Lv 45 Cobe and the cd was 11 seconds. A level 70 Cobe's cd was 5 to 6 seconds only. Very easy to tell for long cd rangers that master in fact does give this bonus. Applies for speed rangers too. I noticed my lv80 hip hop Brown's cd was just over 1 second while a level 1 hip how's cd was 2-3 seconds. Added this master bonus to the post.
DeleteThe cooldowns are longer for all non master rangers from my tests and memory. This is very disappointing to me, as it means paying lots of money to get enough rangers to create a master level, or getting extremely lucky.
DeleteI disagree. In my testing, unmastered rangers did not get penalized after the update, the cooldown is the same as before. Master rangers' cooldown is halved as a bonus.
Deletecan someone tell me what is the consecutive login prize? or where can i see the info about it? i cant find it in game..
ReplyDeleteHi Lorry,
DeleteI added the detail to the post with picture. You should see it when you log in to the game daily.
thx panic, for ur reply and ur post.. ive been wondering, if u check the top player on global scoreboard, u will see lvl 73ish with only 80 masked moon, 60 fighter moon, 70 witch cony, 70 xan, and 60 dkb.. how the hell does he survive and win so many battle with that rangers? technically speaking, most enemy we encounter may have maxed out overpowered rangers.. do u have any idea what kind of strategy he is using?
DeleteI reckon if I did I'd be in the top 5, haha! I don't really buy it though. I think either he's really good at feigning his freebie team for the world to see or something is afoot. Nobody is *that* good, let's be real. :p
Delete+1 for u..
Deletei managed to win most of short arena battle and about 50% of long range.. once i see my enemy having 2 of these (dwight, bernard, dumpy), then i know im gonna lose.. other than that, i can handle it.. sometimes i lose bcause of my mistake to cast the item too early..
do u mind sharing ur deployment strategy and the logic? ive been going up and down struggling around 1600, wished to catch u up at 1900.. xD
Largely depends on what "strategy" the opponent AI has selected for that round, and also of course on what your team consists of. Me personally, I have a few general guidelines that I follow myself. I intend to write them up but I'm wary of posting it because, you know how it is on the internet: you post that you do it one way and then 10 people say that you're wrong and that way doesn't work, blah blah blah... I'm still working on the best way to present my point of view on my battle tactics for Team Battle Mode. They're a collection of things I've observed and tried, which work maybe 60-70% of the time. But nothing works 100% of the time otherwise there would be no competition :)
Deleteu are absolutely right.. nothing will every works 100%.. every rangers combination has their own deployment strategies and can only defeat some set of rangers.. u are also right about some ppl in the internet saying u are wrong. But the reason im asking this, is bcause i want to find my self a set of rangers that can be applied in several strategies and adapt to enemies rangers by altering the deployment strategies. this may not be easy, but im willing to find out and share my thoughts about it here.. :D
Deleteill be waiting ur post on battle strategies in ur point of view and see what strategies that other shared in here..
i probably am not so active posting comment here, but i open this page a lot..i have read tons here and learned a lot.. Well done creating this page, panic... cheers.. :)
Speed ranger cool down has been doubled, but looks like it goes down again when you reach master.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, I didn't notice that.
DeleteDid not notice any difference when I tried it out with a level 1 red brown and a mastered red brown, Any additional information in regards to this theory?
DeleteYeah all cooldowns are longer as far as i see.
DeleteThis is the one thing that really sucks about this update, because it heavily caters to paying players. The only way to have a faster cooldown is to get a master ranger, which is virtually impossible for lots of the good rangers like KSM without paying for rubies, as you need 5 of the same one.
Guys, the cooldowns are not longer. If you have an unmastered ranger, their cool down is the same as it was before. Just that mastered rangers half the bonus of 50% faster cooldown. Cobe was 11 sec before, it's still 11 sec today unless your Cobe is level 70.
DeleteSo they made it even more imbalanced for those without 5 KSM's to combine or 5 Hip hop browns? Just wow..
DeleteYeah maybe you are right Panic, I will just trust you and your wealth of knowledge. Maybe it just seems slower because of how fast red brown and other speed rangers cooldowns are once mastered. So disregaurd my last post starting with "Yeah all cooldowns are longer as far as i see." Although it is still a real sweet bonus for high paying people and lucky ones.
DeleteTo offer what are hopefully constructive thoughts on fairness: Obviously the vs mode is initially very challenging for those with less powerful upgrades and lower levels, as everyone begins at 1000 points, meaning a lot of defeats are required to diminish down to the point that Dumpy or Dwight are unlikely to emerge and overwhelm your team. It's still gold and experience gained, and with a second resource pool of feathers, so playing is still worthwhile. But as defeat is dispiriting, hopefully the tiering of players will persist rather than points being reset each week.
ReplyDeleteMany of the matches I've played have gone into "hurry up", as a huge mass of rangers tends to converge in the centre. The rangers are hardier on average than normal adversaries, and I find myself relying even more on splash to break the stalemate. Then hurry up kicks in, and range and speed of attack decide the battle. It's quite fun, but very unpredictable, especially when it turns out the AI has been holding back on Bernard or KSM, like a poker player concealing their hand!
I think that's an absolutely fair assessment. I am far from having all-master rangers so I also run into ranking walls where I find I cannot proceed any higher without raising the level of my rangers by playing Gacha. It's obviously a ploy to give players more incentive to part with their money -- as is their right as a for-profit game making company. But, I think they've done a fairly good job of matching people with more or less their equals in ranking to give players a challenge that is appropriate for their team. I realize that with my team, I'm not going to be in the top 100, but battling within the top 1000 is still really tough and satisfying.
DeleteI played a match that went on so long that my phone (which is not an old or slow phone by any means) could not keep up and the game started to lag. It was really tough and you have to change your strategy dynamically if you want to win these matches even though it's an AI player. I find it quite fun as well!
Damn, so I've been set up against a bunch of AI? They kicked my tail up and down though, not something to be taken lightly. This looks like the perfect opportunity to study LINE Ranger's AI, but I can't be sure, can I expect a research coming on? In one game I saw the AI pumps out Honey continuously right off the bat, but in others I've caught them trying to max the mineral production before whipping up a storm of Honey! Fascinating, really
ReplyDeleteI can't pass the Altar of Flame wave in the Endless Mode
ReplyDeleteHaving the same problem with the Eugene (Heaven T shirt guy), can't kill him and he is blocking those blondies behind.
DeletePrepare your single target rangers before Eugene arrives. Ice Shot him if you need to. He splashes at the front line so don't waste your minerals spamming tank units before he arrives, as they'll all die at the same time when he hits. Instead, send your tanks in at a steady stream to hold him. The real problem is Eva, Convini, Richard, and psycho poodle chick...
DeleteTrue that. After creating a mass-destruct force of Lucifer-Witch-Sorcerer Cony, with Red-Thunder Brown as meatshiled, i can defeat Eugene (with magic too of course), but then Convini appear, and suddenly all of my Cony disappear... -_-
DeleteSomeone can explain me why do I get always the same person on team battle mode? I keep losing because of that. Until now I got the same person for 4 times in a row and playing for more or less 15 times I noticed all enemies always have dwight, sorcerer cony, dkb, ola and hip hop brown. Is that normal? I find all this really unfair for who have only free rangers.
ReplyDeleteHelp... Cant play LR after updating (jailbroken ios 7.0.4). Says : "This app cant be played on this device.... Or unsupported ios" Any help please... Thank you
ReplyDeleteYeah I can not play too.
DeleteIt looks like we have to wait for the updated tweak of line no detect, or just lose the jailbreak to play line ranger.
For now, I play it in my pc with bluestack.
It is not really worthed to lose my jailbreak
I can play it on jailbroken ipad... You should find any app on cydia such as localapstore, app cheat, sbiapstore or anything that considered as a cheat or hack for purchase then UNINSTALL those apps.... Then voilaaa. Goodluck
DeleteJust trying to make an observation about team battle ranking. Rainbow feathers only generate every half an hour. Therefore the max feathers you can get per day is only 48 feathers (provided you keep playing consistently throughout the day). It seems that with consecutive wins, not only you don't loose points, the number of points earn increases. I am guessing that if you played and win the first 48 match, you can win around 1000 points. Considering that team battle just started, I really have to salute the rank leaders for getting close 3000 points (current count 2868). I can only assume he/she have devoted 24/7 to the game and have probably spent quite a bit buying rubies for feathers : )
ReplyDeleteNeed help here, I have a hard time deciding my line-up for team battle: I have lvl80 Sol, lvl 75 Sorcerer Cony, lvl 70 Dwight, lvl 60 Dumpy, Ola Brown, Hip Hop Brown, KSM, Dancer King Boss
ReplyDeleteHiphop, sorc cony, ksm, dwight and ola
DeleteIt will win most battle, except if you met player with all-master ranger
Mastered-hiphop is so hard to defeat -_-
^ I second Shuy1n's recommendation. My only extra word of caution would be if you feel like the opponent's KSM is too strong and they are killing your Dumpy with 1-shot, swap Dumpy for Dancer King Boss as he has more survivability at long range. It's a huge dps trade-off, but against powerful KSM splash at the front, lv60 Dumpy would melt.
DeleteCan someone help me, please. Should I get a Elin, Sindy, Alice or any free rangers as my range damage dealer? Thank you for your advice
Deleteis it just me or anyone noticed that the experience for combining rangers (at least on friday's rangers combine double exp day) is nerfed and reduced? Before I though combing TWO 4-star rangers result in a lv23 product, not its only lv 16...
ReplyDeleteThe double combined exp event today was *ultra* delayed. I think it was approximately 8 to 10 hours delayed today before the bonus actually became active. It was very strange. The double coin was gone at midnight JST but double combine came much later. Right now it is correct, though.
DeletePanic what is your ranking right now in the versus mode?
ReplyDeleteThe first night I was hovering in the top 100 to 200. After going to bed and waking up I fell to the 900s lol. I haven't bothered to try to pay for feathers again so I'm floating around in the top 1000, rising again when I have regenerated my feathers, falling while I am waiting. This is the way it goes I guess.
DeleteIt's so tough to even get into the top 1000 :/
DeleteIt's tough to even just breaking from 1000-ish points ^^
DeleteWell I don't even have anything near level 50 so it's understandable.
About combining ranger I noticed something that looks new for me and that may have some importance. When you combine identical rangers, not only it increases max level up to four time, but it says it adds 20 % bonus to stats (both attack and health). And you have the message "great success" instead of the normal "success". I don't exactly know if it is 20 % of the previous stats, or 20 % more than what should have normaly be earned... I am interested in understanding this.
ReplyDeleteFor example I combined like 30 Jessica warriors together (my stock of the week) and I got the 20 % bonus each time...
You get 20% bonus to atk and hp each time you break the max limit by combining 2 of the same ranger together. This means you can do this up to 4 times (which stacks up to a total of 80% bonus). This was always the case but they never told you. Now there is an indicator. It tells you 20% no matter how many times you do it then it's probably a bug that needs correcting lol This 80% bonus is the reason why lv 60 4 stars are usually better than level 60 5 star rangers of similar series (like witch Cony is superior to lucifer Cony when you combine 5 witches). Their attack stats converge before witch gets to max, but you get the idea.
DeleteI think I saw a tip that says this also when you wait for the game to load and see Frog Brown.
DeleteThank you for the fast answer. So a lvl 20 Jessica warrior has same stats than any other lvl 20 Jessica warrior, whatever the way you used to level her. I was not sure.
DeleteBy the way thank you very much for your blog! I learnt everything I know about the game in it and it allowed me to enjoy the game much better.
I'm very glad!
DeleteYep just confirmed it myself. You can combine the same ranger more than 4 times and it will always say +20% atk, hp but only the first 4 times applies the 20% bonus for a max of 80% bonus. It's a bug. It should not be indicating 20% after you've combined a total of 5 of the same rangers together. The max level stats remain at 80% even though I combined the same ranger 8 times.
ReplyDeleteThey meant well adding this little tooltip but it is flawed lol
Thanks for the kind feedback, Greg. I appreciate it.
DeleteMore accurately speaking if you have one (never combined) Warrior Jessica for example at level 20 but someone else had a level 20 Warrior Jessica that they already combined twice, their Jessica will be 40% more powerful than yours at level 20. Once you both combine 4 times then your Jessicas will have the same stats as you level up. And if you combined 4 times and the other person (for whatever reason got very lucky) and combined 20 times the same Jessica together into one, at level 70 both of you will still have the same stats. 5 Jessicas is all you need (combined 4 times) to maximize on the 20% bonus.
I see. I didn't understand at once. Thank you. Now, it means that when you don't spend money in rubies, the rangers you get from stage clears have a huge advantage over the ones you get from Gacha. When you have only one version of a ranger you are limited to a very weak version. + 80 % is much. For example, I was lucky enough to get a Lia. But she won't compete with a + 80 % farmed Alice...
ReplyDeleteI saw that the maximum ranger level has been increased from 80 to 99? I do have lvl 80 warrior jessica and just got one more, but I cannot combine these too.
ReplyDeleteMaximum PLAYER level has been increased to 99. Ranger max levels were not changed.
DeleteHi guys, nice to play with ya!
ReplyDeleteDoes somebody know where to obtain "Ron" @ forest friend
I need it to "collect" rubies
Ron is obtainable from the Normal friendship point Gacha. He's one of the rarer 1-star rangers from the pool, but he is definitely in there. Up to now, Ron is only available from that Gacha.
DeleteI'm not too big of a fan on the way the scoreboard works, nor how the battlefield is laid out in concept. To preface it, I understand how this is a great way for line to make money, but it's far too unfair. They've given other regions far too many advantages with their ruby bonuses being so vastly different from ours. This would not be an issue if the scoreboard was regional. If USA fought USA, the difference would only be comparable. Every game is going to have people who have an edge that spent money. That's absolutely fine, but to fight against others who have an edge because they were given one by the game makers sucks.
ReplyDeleteOther to improve fairness would be to scale characters up or down depending on your opponents. This would not be what line wants to do as they want you to spend. I'm okay with that.
Another more balance method is to have a free character only competition. That way deployment strategies and counter strategies can exist within the limited pool of rangers. Rewards for this can be adjusted accordingly as somewhat of a junior league since it's restricted in ranger pool.
Lastly, an open question regarding deployment on AI. Does anyone feel like they manage to deploy faster than actually possible? I feel like I see consecutive dwights come out or they spend more mineral possible on some opening deployments.
i think instead of always complaining about overpowered rangers, people should start thinking about ranger compositions that can defeat the newest and best rangers. the reason they reduced the cooldown of mastered rangers was to give the average person who can farm rangers an edge. majority of the players out there with rangers like dwight dumpy or ksm dont have them mastered... ive had great success with a team that consisted of red brown, masked moon, sorcerer cony, opera james and ola brown. the only unfarmable ranger in my list is ola brown (and sorc cony if you didnt get her from the event) and i feel ola brown could be easily replaced.
ReplyDeleteyou wont win all matches with this composition but ive gotten to rank 2500..which i feel is pretty decent.
the enemy is AI controlled, so their combination of item usages is not always optimal. take advantage of that.
I use splash rangers (clara, sol, cobe), it's only good for short tracks ^^. Now that you say the opponent are controlled by AI, have you ever met someone who use 2 or more skills in one battle? Sometimes I wonder if people can buy both whirlwind and ice for one stage.
DeleteI've been stuck in the battle mode since the beginning. Basically winning 2 or 3 of the the 5 feathers to play with. As long as the AI has got a mastered Hip Hop Brown I'm dead. Just do not have the firepower to overcome them. Any tips?
DeleteThe endless mode is great to farm free meteors, ice shots, tornadoes and invincibility.
ReplyDeleteCurrently I'm using a lineup of free (the best I got from premium gacha was only Sorcerer Cony T_T) rangers consisting of:
Red Brown, Clara, Opera James, Witch Cony, Alice (all mastered).
I start wave 01 by upgrading minerals to Lv8. At that time the enemies will be attacking our tower. Then slowly deploy Witch Cony to build up the attacking power. From wave 02 and onwards, start acculumating Opera James, Clara, Alice and Witch Cony in decreasing order of priority. Deploy Red Brown continuously after wave 05-06 (when you find the frontline being pushed backward).
Without using friend help and items, my best was at wave 09 with 900k score. I feel that an ideal lineup will be like
Fast Fodder (Hip-hop Brown/Red Brown/Glen/Rei any 1) +
Ranged Splashers with FAST COOLDOWN (Ola Brown/Songsters Cony/Opera James/Clara any 2) +
Speedy Ranged ranger (Lucifer Cony/Witch Cony any 1) +
Ranged heavy attacker (Lia//KSM/DK Boss/Alice any 1)
More generally, the attacking rangers having ranges beyond the Security Guard Boss and fast cooldown are OK to use. Sol is not recommended as its range is too short. Sorcerer Cony and Abdula are outclassed by other splashers in terms of cooldown.
Any other thoughts on the Endless mode?
I haven't played Endless Mode a lot myself yet. But of course, expert on Free Rangers, 小為, has a really good Youtube video up that you can use to gather some inspiration.

My friend has 3 rangers in his team (he only just begun playing LR). Two of which are 1-star, and the other a 3-star ranger. I did the versus battle with him, and what rangers came out of his tower? Thunder Brown and KSM... I wonder how that works...
