New Area: Maze of Illusion Coming July 17

Update: Maze of Illusion is confirmed to be releasing approximately at 8am JST on July 17. Maintenance is happening as usual, then release.

Oopsie Daisies!

Early this morning, Line "accidentally" revealed that the new area called Maze of Illusion is going to be released July 17. The new area will come with new treasure, of course. It will also feature 7 new enemies. The splash screen was released everywhere and then true to "oopsie" Line Rangers fashion, was pulled out minutes later. Probably another accidental push!

The new enemies look like Alice in Wonderland meets board game bonanza. I'm honestly pretty disappointed it is only one new area and not 2. We have it on good authority that 5 new areas are coming (don't ask me where, I cannot confirm), but maybe they're going to release them one at a time.

July 17 is only a week away! I can't wait. I have been dying to play new stages for a long time.

Line Rangers Survey

By the way, if you have not checked it out, go in-game to "Settings> Notices" for a new notice called Line Rangers Survey. If you do not see the new notice, try to restart the game. I had an issue where it showed up, then disappeared, then reappeared again. 

They want to know what you like about the game, what you like least about the game, what can be improved/fixed and what suggestions you have for them to make the game better. There is no character limit so write as much as you like. I highly recommend that everyone who feels passionately about the game do this so that the game developers get the message directly from their players about what we want. 

Me? I sent them 11 bullet points of top items I wish they'd do. Remember to be respectful and constructive because if you just tell them their game sucks and the Gacha sucks and you don't give them any intelligently formed opinions, it will not be useful.

  1. I didnt get to send this into the survey but PvP should have seperate ranking's for categories of 1 Star, 2 Star, 3 Star, 4 Star, 5 Star. For example 3 star ranking, you can use any rangers with 3 stars and less. def would even the playing field a bit. and i honestly think 1-2 star rangers only would be more fun and require more skill

  2. I have 100 rubies to spend. I already have 1 x Susu. Would it make sense to wait for the next Gacha event or should I take a chance to get another Susu before the end of this weekend?

    1. That's entirely up to you. But every month the rangers seem to get more and more powerful, no?

    2. Yeh I agree, but it also depends on what rangers you currently have already. If you have heaps of rangers and you just really really want Susu then I reckon you should perhaps wait. If you don't have heaps of rangers and you want Susu, then you'll be happy even if you get some other strong rangers because the likelihood of Susu is so low..

    right now my heart is mixed with joy & anxious

    joy because there will be new areas

    anxious because will my mastered 5* from premium gacha be the next 5* clear bonus in that area? lol

  6. How timely! Just this week I managed to finish stage 120 for the first time - I ended up doing it with only two rangers, a mastered Shu and a mastered Glenn, frantically tapping and winning only just by the skin of my teeth. I'm sure the next stage will flatten me...

  7. hello panic, thanks for information about the new stage, i don't see the banner yesterday, but it becomes very easy for players who have all master premium rangers (SUSU, KSM, DUMPY and the other friend), and become very hard for me, players with free rangers -_- (maybe one or two week for clearing that stage, but not for those who have all master premium rangers, maybe just one day or even one hour for cleared all new stage), i agree with your statement "I'm honestly pretty disappointed it is only one new area and not 2", we will waiting and waiting again and playing PvP again -_- , oh yeah i almost forgot about the survey, i didn't see in notice, i already check but it not showed up, actually im interested their survey, it indicates that they want to hear our suggestions, and I would like to advise them to give a last chance to get Ola brown on gacha friendship point (like Clara or Macho Moon), i think the free players will agree with my advise haha ..
    in the end, the new ranger will always appear and ola brown will not be useful anymore and SALLY become zombie LoL

  8. There is a weird bug in team battle mode where you can instantly win with a well timed tornado. I'm trying to experiment and hopefully I can narrow down the cause.
    It sometimes happens when I use tornado very shortly after the AI uses it. It pushes the enemy team to the end of the screen and all of sudden I get the 'WIN' message O_O

    1. Would it have something to do potentially with the attacks you give/receive just prior to the tornado? I find when I use the tornado in the midst of a fierce stand off of hip hop browns that when the units are swept back to their base, they become red as if to signify they just got hit despite them being far from the enemy. Maybe your attacks are so powerful that when the tornado pushes them back, the attack is then cast onto the enemy tower (sort of like a lag in the attack)?

    2. I've noticed splash damage will sometimes follow a tornado-swept enemy back to base, and some players don't seem to have upgraded the Sally Tower at all, so that could account for it...

    5. Yeah I've noticed that too, but sometimes it happens right at the start of battle when nothing has really happened yet. It happens even if no splash attack travels to the enemy base. But trust me, my attacks are not so powerful at all.

      Anyway, it's no big deal. It certainly helps against those powerful teams though haha.

  9. Yeeeesssss, finally, a new stage. Although you're right, I was kinda hoping for more than a stage, but we'll see. Anyway I wonder what kind of treasure the new area will give, I wonder? I sure hope that it's something usefull...

  11. I hope it's challenging enough to keep us occupied rather than let us wait around like now. Like mentioned above stage 120 was cleared within the hour of releasing.

  12. I hope that they will do the following

    - Expand the selection of main rangers from 5 to 6 rangers
    - Send our own reinforcement rangers (Similar to friend), except that we will choose our 3 rangers which must be different from the 5/6 rangers we had selected and will have waiting time of 100 seconds with a fix cost of 500 minerals for the whole set regardless of the rangers being selected and can be re-called again after cooldown of 100 seconds. Maybe with future stage treasure, can lowered the cooldown and also can lowered the cost of calling the reinforcement rangers

    - Send a front-line rangers bringing our own flag with 3 ranger that must be different form the main 5/6 rangers and the rangers selected for our own reinforcement 3 rangers. This ranger will automatically be deployed whenever the stage / battle begin. It will only appear once.

    - Increase the maximum level of a ranger when same ranger is combined
    1 star and 2 stars ranger, will increase 5 max level when combined (same as current)
    3 stars ranger as a premium ranger, will increase 10 max level when combined
    4 stars ranger as a gold premium ranger, will increase 15 max level when combined
    5 stars ranger as the super gold premium ranger, will increase 20 max level when combined

    - Mastered ranger should have other benefit than the half cool-down time
    Speed: When mastered, extra more half cool-down time. Current mastered hip hop cool down is 0.5 seconds. With this, the cool down will be 0.25 seconds
    Health: When mastered, when a health ranger died in the battle, enemy will not gain any mineral at all and half of the ranger cost will be returned to the player.
    Attack: When mastered, when attack ranger is the one that did the last hit to the enemy, player will gain double mineral income for killing of the enemy unit.
    Splash: When mastered, increase attack splash area (not the range), by 1 range unit.
    Balance: When mastered, lowered the cost of the balance ranger by half.

    1. - And also increase the current battle / stage mineral level from only upgradable up to level 8, to be upgradable to up to level 9 or 10

      - For the battle mode, the starting point of every week of the player should not be 1000. It should be based on the formula of
      1000 + [Total stage cleared] + [Player base level] + [Player mineral production rate level] + [Player mineral max limit level] + [Player missile upgrade level] + [Player tower HP level].
      Player with level 50 and completed stage 100 and upgraded all upgrades to level 50 starting points will be 1000+100+50+50+50+50 = 1400

      - Reduce enemy ranger attack damage

      - Reduce enemy production rate

  17. I did some calculations for free players.

    what if you play for a year, how many gems you get?

    (weekly rewards 20+10+5)+(standard battle reward)20=55x52 weeks = 2860 gems
    level up rewards = 99x3= 297
    collection rewards= 16x5=80
    estimated free event gems (line play, gifts, promo, server errors) = 500

    Makes 3737 free gems in a year. Let's a positve 63 to make 3800.
    How many 5 stars can you expect in a year?
    38 x 6 x 0,4789 =

    109 5 star rangers in the first year. 2nd year 96 free rangers.

    How many super rangers?
    38 x 6 x 0,1740 = 40 rangers.

    A year is of course quite long, but that is the path of the free player. The path of patience.

  18. What I'm curious about is how they'll balance this new content.

    Until now, every area has been winnable using only the free rangers. But with two rounds of new rangers since the last area release, there is now a massive power gap between those like me, who are still running around with Sol and Warrior Jessica, and those who have a team of mastered Dwights and Susus and Cherinas and so on.

    If they continue to balance it for free rangers, super ranger teams will absolutely steam-roll the new content, and players will complain it was too easy. But if they want to challenge players who have those very powerful rangers, players who have been unlucky with their Gacha will complain it's too hard. My own regular team (70 Shu, 80 Sol, 60 KSM, 70 Warrior Jessica, 60 Hip-Hop Brown) does well in the content now, but just by comparing their numbers, I know their power is falling way behind the latest rangers... so it'll be interesting to see.

  19. The star rating system is pretty useless these days. The new 5 star rangers power gap with the old 5 star rangers is about the same as the power gap between 1 star and 5 star old rangers. And we now have 4 star rangers way stronger than 5 start ones.

  20. the only way i could think of, is by separating the stats for team battle and saving sally mode... probably by generalize all rangers into "uncombined max lvl" for saving sally mode.. eg, 5* rangers can only have stats for lvl 60.. if it is combined with same rangers and above 60, 20% increase wont apply and stats only capped at lvl 60.. therefore all players will have same difficulty to pass the stages..
